The Lead Applications Developer is responsible for working with the development team to design and program new GIS applications using object oriented programming languages, maintain existing GIS applications written in AML, Avenue and other languages, and investigate new technologies. This is an exciting time for DNR GIS because we are migrating to ArcGIS, which provides an opportunity to build new tools for all GIS users in the agency. The development team will be critical in the success of that effort. Applicants must have three years experience designing and developing GIS applications and systems using workstation ArcInfo or ArcGIS and an RDMS such as Oracle. This experience must include programming using AML or an object oriented language such as Visual Basic or a .net language.
